As the Chair Turns - May 2020

Hello. Hello. Hello.

​I hope this finds all of you in good health and reasonably sane.  I cannot wait to hear about all of the fun and exciting things you’ve been discovering about yourselves these last few weeks.  We will definitely have plenty to talk about when we're finally able to see each other.

It goes without saying that the last few weeks have been an unbelievable roller coaster ride, as I’m sure has been the case with many of you.  I shared with you just a few days ago that my father had passed away.  He was admitted to the hospital on March 20th and a month later he was no longer with us.  Obviously some days have been easier than others.   Mom and I are doing pretty good.  We’ve laughed.  We’ve cried.  We’ve been quiet while on the phone with each other. The love pouring in has helped hold us up during this time.  Thank you!

I also let you know the salon will be closed through the end of May due to the updated Stay at Home Order.  Your generosity and thoughtfulness during these times is beyond words.  I am so fortunate to have all of you in my life.  And finally, just this week, as a self-employed independent contractor, I was able to file for unemployment.  I certified 6 weeks yesterday and should, hopefully, be receiving the financial assistance that is so long over due soon.  I’ve been managing OK during this pandemic but that has not been the case with so many others.

This month’s newsletter took a complete 180 when the Stay at Home Order was extended.  I had planned on letting you know what to expect during your appointment and the things we would be doing in the salon to assure your safety, but I will have to save that for a later day.

So instead of all that I have articles that will hopefully give you some tips on getting through another month at home.
