I want to give you an update Hello,
As you are aware COVID-19 cases are on the rise. With the increased number of cases, San Francisco is expected to move to California’s most restrictive purple tier next week, placing the city under new overnight curfew. The curfew, which will require nonessential work and gatherings to stop between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., would go into effect two days after the move to purple. Under this Purple Tier there are a few businesses that are allowed to remain open, with modifications. Personal care services, including hair and nail salons will remain open indoors, unless County Healthcare officials decide otherwise. The Salon industry lobbied very hard this summer for this Purple Tier allowance. Our industry has always maintained a very high level of health and safety for our clients (that's you) and we have stepped up our cleaning and sanitizing practices even more during these unprecedented times. I want you to know I am taking every precaution I can to protect you from exposure while you are in the salon. I do understand, though, that each one of us needs to decide for ourselves what our comfort levels are when we leave our homes. Again, I wanted to let you know, for now anyway, I am still open and taking appointments. Have a safe and thankful Thanksgiving. San Francisco, CA — Mayor London N. Breed, Dr. Grant Colfax, Director of Health, and Assessor-Recorder Carmen Chu, co-Chair of the City’s Economic Recovery Task Force, today announced San Francisco is moving forward with additional reopening on Monday, September 14. In addition to previously announced businesses and activities planned for mid-September, indoor personal services with limited capacity and indoor gyms with limited capacity will also be opening this coming Monday. "CA's Blueprint for a Safer Economy is the next evolution of the state's #COVID19 response. Every county is now assigned to a color tier based on its rate of new cases & positivity to determine which sectors can operate." Check your county: covid19.ca.gov In this announcement "Hair Salons and Barbershops can reopen in every county in California for INDOOR business, regardless of where the county lands on the state's reopening system. This, as long as county health officers allow." twitter.com/zavalaa/status/1299430699196268545?s=21 I've pressed San Francisco's County Assessor for a statement from the Mayor. (San Francisco is only allowing personal services outdoors beginning Sept 1st, which are not practical) twitter.com/sfobrian/status/1299434608023367680?s=21 Also telling her that based on the Governor's announcement today, the Mayor needs to understanding that WE WILL BE OPENING ON MONDAY! twitter.com/sfobrian/status/1299440859100844032?s=21 I know this is a bold move for me before hearing back from the Mayor, but... Are you available for a hair appointment? My calendar is now open... Hello. It's me again.
The Mayor has suspended the next phase reopening AGAIN! (06/26/20) At this point I am not able to give you any assurance whether or not the July 6th date I gave you earlier this week will allowed either. We're just going to have to take this one day at a time. I will keep you post as I learn more. Thank you again for your patience during these times. |
